omg this upgrade is going really really badly. the new case is awful i hate it alot. and the wires lookk just as bad if not worse. the case is NOT fingernail friendly and the open and closing thingys r just silly. and to top it all off somehow iv screwed up the cpu and now its running at 72 instead of 43. so tommorw ill be re seating the heatsink and hope for the best. if i thought i could get anything out of this case at this point id get rid of it and just go back to the old one. the new psu isnt any better the wires they put on it are not usable and they are all 5 miles long so there just isnt any place to hide them all. its very frustrating. wishing i could start this day over and not have made such a mess. lol

turned out one of the screws on the heat sink was looses so i re did it and it seamed good. but when i put the side on tis case the temp for processer went to 50 ish and system temp was 44 ish. thats much higher than old case. so i put all may crap back in my case with my weird array of fans and im back to square one. Thank heavens new egg rocks and is taking the case back with no restocking fee and they are even paying the shipping back.

I was wondering how long it was gonna take you to ship it back :) Just remember, bigger isn't always better :) (well that's what I keep telling myself).

I have a Cooler Master Stacker that is AWESOME for cooling ease and options, along with a dizzying array of of wiring options, setup, and customization. I'm not even sure there is anything original about the case, especially with the on going mods for the water cooling setup. The cooling will make a huge case about 5-6" even taller, but I don't want to have a separate box for the pumps, reservoir, and rads.

Witchy, next time you get a hankering for a case.. check with me, and read all the "eggs" reviews! That case actually looks like a cheapo Cooler Master knock off!

It seams the raid contorler on my mother board went bad. Unfortuetly i had my hard drives set in raid so there was no way to make them work again with out replacing the mother board with the same one and of course the only one on the planet was a used one in hong kong...oh well new one went good after a depressing start. Got a bad stick of memory to start and it was being a pain but new memory is on the way and the two sticks in it now are working great. will post pics soon.
asus crosshair IV formula am3 amd 890fx motherboard
galaxy geforce gtx 580 (fermi) 1536mb 384-bit ddr5 pci e
amd phenom II x6 1090t black ed thuban 3.2ghz
crucial realssd 128gb sataIII
g.skill ripjaw series 16gb ddr3 sdram
all the rest stayed the same 850 power supply and same case as befor.

Hello old friend!!! I see you've jumped into new hardware. :) After fighting numerous medical ailments that have seen me ending up on disability, I too am finally finishing a project I started years ago (although the main components have all been sold). Believe it or not, I'm still running on the Abit NF7-S v2, AMD XP 3200+, 1.5GBs of Kingston HyperX RAM, ATI 9800 Pro (my X850 XT PE died 2 months ago, thank goodness I had my old faithful still tucked away in a bin), High Point controller card with 4 hard drives running off of it, TV Tuner card, and 2 DVD lightscribe burners setup!

You've picked some great hardware to work with! I'm not sold on SSDs yet... don't see one of those lasting after 6 years of hard use like my primary WD has (not to mention the sheer cost per GB). I'll be happy with my 2 WD raptors (latest gen) in RAID 0, a WD Black 2TB for media, etc, and a WD Green AV 3TB for backups.

I too have the 1090T BE @ the moment sitting on a brand new GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 AM3+ AMD 990FX mobo with 4-2GB sticks of Crucial Ballistic tracers (DDR3 1600)... maybe before RAM heads north again, I'll pick up 16GBs like you... but my Soc Sec Disability entitlement doesn't lend itself to major hardware purchases all at once! I sold my Gigabyte GA-890FX-A UD5 and 1050T still in their boxes for 30c on the dollar just so I could be "bulldozer" ready! I also traded up from an ATI HD 5770 to an AMD HD 6790... I'm not a serious gamer... my system is purpose built as a multi-media workstation (the dual digital tuner with 3 daughter boards and my ever changing sound card useprove that) that I'm hoping to step up to twin 27" monitors. The water cooling setup is my biggest hold up right now, I am having fitment issues with my drive bay items in the top 3 bays running into the radiator's plumbing hookups (OK, so I'm using an original Cooler Master Stacker with all 12 of it's 5.25" drive bays... and all but the very bottom one will be populated with something, including custom made power and IO panels along with the sweet LCD bay unit). I'm having to purchase a different IO bay panel and media card readers which I will mod in my power and reset lighted bulgin switches and possibly a pair of USB 3.0 connectors.

Let me know if you would like my facebook profile, I have a work log started there, but even that has many changes I have not uploaded yet.
